Costa opens 2027 Graduate Program to grow future leaders in fresh produce

Applications are now open for Costa’s 2027 Graduate Program, providing an opportunity to build a career in one of Australia’s leading fresh produce businesses.

Designed for graduates who are passionate about horticulture, agriculture and agribusiness, the program provides permanent or fixed-term roles with a tailored 12 or 18-month development experience across Costa’s operations, functions and locations.

Costa is a global grower, packer and marketer of premium quality fresh fruit and vegetables, with a strong focus on excellence, innovation and sustainability. As part of the Graduate Program, participants will contribute to meaningful work that supports the future of fresh food production, while gaining practical experience, leadership development and exposure to experienced technical and operational leaders.

Costa’s Graduate Program includes structured development and leadership training, mentoring, access to senior leaders and external facilitators, group project assignments and connections with current and former graduates.

David Hall, who joined the 12-month Graduate Program in 2026 as a Pack Shed Graduate within the Avocados and Bananas division, is now Senior Shed Supervisor.  He said the program had provided valuable hands-on experience and career growth.

“Despite having no prior background in pack shed or operations, Costa’s genuine investment in developing its graduates gave me the chance to work closely with the agronomy, harvest and sales teams, and build that experience from the ground up.

“Beyond my immediate team, the program opened doors to network with Costa’s executive leadership and colleagues across other divisions,” David said.

Applicants must have completed, or be in their final year of, a Bachelor level qualification or higher in horticulture, agronomy, plant science, rural science, business, sales, human resources, work health and safety, procurement or a related discipline relevant to the role they are applying for.
