Costa is Australia’s leading horticultural company and is the largest fresh produce supplier to the major food retailers. Our operations include approximately 7000 planted hectares of farmland, 40 hectares of glasshouse facilities and three mushroom growing facilities across Australia.

Costa also has strategic foreign interests, with majority owned ventures covering six blueberry farms in Morocco and four berry farms in China.

We have farms in close to 30 regional locations across Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Western Australia, as well as logistics facilities in Melbourne.

Our farms are located in some of the most scenic areas of Australia from the beautiful Atherton Tablelands, known as the ‘food bowl of the tropics’, in Far North Queensland to the North-West of Tasmania, with its stunning coastal drives and national parks.

The regional communities in which we operate offer a host of lifestyle benefits, whether it’s exploring the natural environment or enjoying the myriad of activities on offer.

Explore all that our regions have to offer.

Queensland

Costa operations are spread across Queensland, from mushrooms in the south-east to bananas, berries and avocados on the Atherton Tablelands in the Far North.

Atherton Tablelands

The Atherton Tablelands are known as the ‘food bowl of the tropics’ with gourmet food and wine trails spread throughout the region. The Atherton Tablelands are just over an hour’s drive from Cairns.

Fraser Coast

The Fraser Coast is home to some of Queensland’s greatest icons including the World-Heritage listed Fraser Island and Lady Elliot Island.

Mundubbera

Mundubbera is famous for being one of the largest producing areas of table grapes in Queensland and also produces citrus, mangoes, peaches, lychees, nectarines, watermelons and rockmelons.

New South Wales

Costa’s operations are spread across New South Wales, from berry farms near Tumbarumba on the western side of the Snowy Mountains, to the avocado and berry farms in the Macleay Valley and Coffs Coast, and state-of-the-art tomato glasshouses in Guyra, near Armidale on the Northern Tablelands.

Guyra

Guyra is located at the top of the Northern Tablelands in the New England region of New South Wales, approximately half way between Sydney and Brisbane. Guyra has a population of 2,200, and is a community dependent on the fortunes of agriculture.

Guyra was chosen as the site for our 30 hectares of glasshouse because of its unique micro-climate of high light levels in winter and cool summer month – this type of weather combination is rarely seen anywhere else in the world.

It is the highest town in the New England region and is a popular location for outdoor adventures. Nearby national parks offer great bushwalking, rock climbing, kayaking and mountain biking.

Coffs Coast

The Coffs Coast is a region celebrated for its unspoilt beaches, World Heritage listed rainforest and laid back lifestyle. Coffs Harbour is located about halfway between Sydney and Brisbane and is at the southern edge of the Solitary Islands Marine Park.

Macleay Valley

The Macleay Valley Coast includes the surrounding towns of Gladstone, South West Rocks. Stuarts Point and Crescent Head, which has one of the longest point breaks in Australia.

South Australia

Costa operates a mushroom facility at Monarto, west of the Murray River, as well as an avocado farm in Loxton and citrus farms in the Riverland region.

Riverland

The Murraylands and Riverland region covers a diverse and fertile landscape, which is brought to life by the mighty Murray River and a community engrained in the land.

Spanning 36,000 square kilometres, the region is located between the Adelaide Hills to the west, and the Victorian border to the east. The Murray River runs from Renmark in the north through to Murray Bridge and the Coorong in the south. Our region benefits from easy access to metropolitan centres and interstate markets along key transport routes.

Loxton

Loxton, situated on the southern bank of the Murray River boasts first class accommodation, unique attractions, a nationally recognised golf course, thriving retail and business centre, wine tasting, numerous festivals and events, beautifully maintained gardens, and a variety of nature-based activities.

Monarto

Monarto is around 70 kilometres from South Australia’s capital city of Adelaide and the gateway to the Murraylands region. It is home to the biggest open-range zoo in Australia.

Tasmania

Costa’s Tasmania berry farms cover up to 230 hectares in the beautiful north-west of Tasmania around Devonport, Sulfur Creek, Wesley Vale, Dunorlan and Lebrina.

Victoria

The Costa headquarters and the Derrimut Distribution Centre are located in Melbourne. The Mernda Mushroom Farm in north-east Melbourne is largest mushroom farm in the Southern Hemisphere. Other sites in Victoria include the Nagambie Compost Facility and citrus farms near Mildura.

Nagambie

Nagambie is a region of wine, waterways, wetlands and wildlife and is only 90 minutes from Melbourne and 40 minutes from Shepparton.

Mildura

Mildura is located in the far north-western corner of Victoria, on the banks of the Murray River, around 400 kilometres from Adelaide and under 550 kilometres from Melbourne. Mildura’s famous natural attraction is the Murray River which offers many activities, such as paddle steamer cruises which depart from the wharf, swimming, fishing and the popular activity of living on a hired house boat and cruising along the river for a number of days.

Western Australia

Costa operates two mushroom facilities, a distribution centre and a berry farm in Western Australia. The Mandurah Compost Facility is located near Mandurah, about 72 kilometres south of Perth. It is the state’s second largest city. Other sites are located at Casuarina and Jandakot, both suburbs of Perth, and in the Gingin Shire, which is about 90 kilometres north of the Perth city centre.

Perth

Nestled on the banks of the stunning Swan River, Perth is amongst the top travel destinations of the world. Perth is brimming with foodie festivals, major exhibitions, sporting events, music and theatre.

Mandurah

As Western Australia’s largest regional city, Mandurah is known for its beautiful waterways and relaxed holiday atmosphere.

Gingin

Around 90 km north of Perth, the Shire of Gingin is a region renowned for its stunning coastline, rich expanses of agricultural land and Indigenous, colonial and 17th century maritime history.
