Costa is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Well Grown Community Grants Program, which aims to support local initiatives and projects in the Guyra and Armidale region.

A total of seven organisations including community and sporting groups and schools will receive funding through the Grants Program.

State Manager of the Costa glasshouses, Brett Ryan, said there were a large number of applications for the grants program, which is now in its third year.

Through the program funding is provided across the five categories of: sporting event/activity; community event; school project/initiative; environmental initiative/activity; and a community organisation or project aimed at supporting disadvantaged youth and/or Indigenous youth projects.

“Supporting our local community is a key focus for the Costa business.  We received high quality applications for a range of very worth initiatives and events, which does make the selection process very difficult,” Mr Ryan said.

“We used an independent reviewer to assess the applications to ensure they were each judged fairly according to our criteria and we are pleased to be able to provide support for such a diverse range of activities which will have direct benefits for our community.”

The recipients for 2025 are:

Sport event/activity

  • New England Nomads Junior AFL
  • Guyra United Soccer Club

Community event

  • New England Garden Festival

School project/initiative

  • St Peter’s Preschool Armidale to support the creation of a community garden
  • Parents and Friends of St Mary’s of the Angels Primary School Guyra to support farm to table activities

Environmental initiative/activity

  • Guyra Neighbourhood Centre to support Cool Climate Permaculture Workshops

Community Project youth

  • Armidale City Public School to support the completion of the Yarning Circle/Indigenous Garden

“I’d like to thank all the applicants for taking the time to apply and wish all organisations well with their activities.  We also look forward to sharing updates on the progress and impact of these projects over the course of the year,” Mr Ryan said.
